Fuse setting problem

When I go into the fuse setting window in jeepers and try to change the setting at the bottom the area is not active. I can get each box to turn purple but the numbers and letters will not change. I cannot back space them or over write. It seems like they are greyed out. Anyway I can't get them to change. I suspect my problem is some setting in Windows but I do not know where to go to make the settings change nor do I know what I would have to do. If anyone knows how to solve this problem I would really appreciate the help.

You have to click on the boxes above the bytes at the bottom. by changing combinations of what is checked in the boxes above the bottom numbers, you can change those bottom numbers, I do no think you can change the bottom byte, you have to change the checked boxes to change bytes.

Along that line--is there website or download available that will tell me what combinations to use to get a desired fuse byte? I say this because I attempted to load the Fusion pfg file at the top of Mili's downloads--however it requires a change in the fuse byte on the low fuse to AE from A1, and tried a number of combos before giving up in frustration. (I tried Beastlord's no freeze file next and it worked beautifully and opened all PPV)--but for future reference I'm trying to learn more about Charlie than I ever did about Dave. All that has happened in the last year has taught me that even though the free tv is nice, I had better know what I am doing rather than leave it to others and risk getting scammed.
