plz help!! ird keeps restarting...

hey all, i've searched every single thread (almost) on the board and no one has same problem as me. My sysinfo say 3000c, on the receiver it says 3500 and on ebay i've seen my receiver show as 4500, i'm not sure which one it is. When i first got the receiver everything worked fine, i was using chatternut with jeepers. its a atmega128. lately i've been having the problem where my dish would turn off then on showing "aquiring satallite signal" 1 once every 2 min-5min. it's very annoying. i've tried every program, chatternut/beavis/angel/toad etc. it does the same thing for anyprogram. i realize that when there is no card (atmega) in the box, it displays "insert card" on screen, but it still turns off and on.
I'm totally new at this... anybody have a reason why?

it is for sure a 3500 use sexy383 it will work for you do a hard reset on that ird maybe update firmware also

i have the sexy383 prog on card loaded thx to you on another post a week ago. still no luck... the prog runs fine, everything unlocked and no pauses or freezes.

however, how do i do a hard reset and how should that help?

change the crystal to a 9 or 13.5mhz

Hey not to worry i have the same problem with my 3900 reciever it caused that problem because of the thunderstorm and short circuit

here is what i did and it works for me

i unplugged my reciever for few hours and then plug it in at first no luck

then i unplugged it every now and then still no luck then

i just left it alon"unplugged" for the whole night and in the morning when i plugged it back in wallah it worked it happens like that with me on that same reciever on every thunderstorm or whenever i take out my card

no need to re-program your card or change settings just keep your old one that normally worked for you

relax have a beer for a day or 2 and try my method it will work !!!

the crystal reads 18.0mhz... how will changing the mhz help?

Cause you're changing the speed.

everytime I change speed the ird says insert card or wrong card inserted. when i change the speed to 18.000 mhz it reads the card properly and displays the channel.

the same problem persists.

i'm gonna try unplugging the ird for a couple of days and see what happens...

You have to change the crystal on the board not just in jeepers.

Masta Mind, thx alot!! it worked. i left it unplugged for 3 days. plugged it in and no restarts in 2 hours!! no i won't have to spend 350 cdn for a new ird.

Hey you know what this is a crazy Hobby....You just have to keep trying new things and not everyone will have same solutions some systems are smoking weed or drinking or something and you just leave them alone for a bit and then they will get back at work...

I left it for 2 days and then i was like alright if it doesnt work then iwill go buy a new one... before i left it alone i tried almost everything that was recommended to me and that was in other threads.... so i am glad i was able to help someone out
