I keep getting "bad or scrambled channel" message every 5 mins. while viewing certain channels. After a while it gets annoying. Any suggestions! May be addtional hardware needed to boost the signal strength or just wait for new software/fimeware update.

I am using Lifetime Ultra receiver and the software version is Al7bar FTA_040506_232api(NTSC).bin. I've checked the file and it is not corrupted.

I am not sure the about the boot version. My guess is 6.0 The bin file I downloaded does not indicate the boot version. To my understanding Al7barFTA_040506_232api(NTSC).bin is the only bin file that is most current(NEW) for the Ultra receiver put on in May 2004. Has there been a newer version released since then. If so then what kind of improvements does the new version have.

Generally the bad signal message comes when you do not have all the transponder frequencies set properly.

Try changing frequencies and rescan the transponders.

What frequencies should I be using for the Ultra?I set them for 11250, I am using a DTV Lnb; are they a standard or universal LNB.
