301 .010 question

just got a 301 .010 and it has a rom 101, do i need to do anything to the reciever before i put in a rom 10?

If you've already JTAGged it and backed up the memory, nope...just enjoy it. It may take a firmware update when you get it online - you'll see a screen warning if this happens. Just let it update; takes about 10 minutes. Digital lock is optional, and the VidMod required on most 301.013's isn't needed.

i have two 301.013's just sitting, didn't want to mess them up by trying the vid mod, are you saying that it may not need to be done? how can i tell?

301.10's don't require the vid mod, and not all 301.13's do either. I fogot the address on the tsop to check to see if you need to do the vid mod or not, but it's here somewhere. If your 301.13's came with a rom10 or rom11 then you know for sure you don't have to vid mod 'em.

Just remove the case and count the TSOPs. One=VidMod necessary, two=no VidMod needed.

well i JTAGed got all i needed, put ifo on a rom 10, hooked it up i hour ago, ... nuttin but black screen, ... advice?

What did you put on the card?
A good program with a good blocker is nescessary to get any programming with the ROM 10.
