UHF remote

I have a 4900 receiver and uhf remote. remote is transmitting ir but wont work in next room. have tried another uhf remote with same result . have antenna in back of unit . any help would be appreaciated thanks

The uhf feature in the receiver may have went to hell. A uhf receiver will get a signal from the remote with no antannae attached but not in the other room. Check your antannae, make sure it is not shorting out or something, Make sure the clip is connected from the uhf connetor to the board of the IRD. Make sure you are using a UHF remote, not all dish remotes are uhf, the blue button IR and Uhf remotes are identical except the uhf say uhf on them

Thanks for the info . I have uhf remote. Added a piece of rg 6 to get antenna on top of cabinet . It works fine now. Thanks again
