My cousin just subscribed to Charlie. He got the 3 reciever deal. He was talking to me about if it could be hacked. I said probably yes but not as easy as DaveTV. Anyway his recievers do not have any cards. He emailed me pics. I know nothing about Charlie but is this something new? He has no access cards but still gets the channels. thanks

He probably has the model 311 IRD's. They have embedded smart cards and are useless for testing.

I beleive there is a 601 reciever that is cardless as well. The question here is, How in the hell do they program them to decrypt some channels and not others. If we could get a virgin one and crack how they "program" these receivers we could program them wide open, or at least untill they move event id's, it can't be that simple thought or someone else would have already done it. But they must use something, to tell that receiver what to decrypt and what not too. Is it all in the data stream?? Or do installers have to insert something into the card slot?? Why have the card slot on a cardless receiver if there is not reason to have it?? I guess it would save in the production of new covers for receivers that do not have the card. What do the cardless receivers decrypt?? Is it the nagra 1, or the nagra 2 stream?? Or something completely different all together?

There is a chip on board that replaces the chip on the card, the receiver has yet to be jtagged , those are some of several security issues that are being worked on now, maybe it will be hacked, maybe it won't.

and since we have no card to pull box keys off of????? I realize a jtag would be necessary eventually, but pulling box keys off of a subbed card is temporary fix. Now they are screwing us on that on!!! Damn you Charlie!!! lol
