What the live span of blockers?

I just wanted to know if anyone knows how long does a blocker last? Or do we just wait until the card gets EMC to apply a new one? Just some general knowledge I would like to know??

I don't know how long they last, but waiting for a ecm is not a good way to find out as sometimes it will damage your card beyond repair.

I see so in opinion it would be best to apply a new blocker (should I say the latest current blocker), every few months or so in order to avoid an Emc?

Well that may be a good idea, but i don't think the June 10th ECM had a update to prevent it until after it happened, I know Mili's private blocker made it through, It may sound expensive but burn up a couple of rom 3 cards because of a public blocker and see what it cost to replace them!! I use public blockers as well, but I do not test that often with my plastic, I have them programmed up in case of a emergency on a big ppv night, I have friends over and my MC and Atmega go down, I will have to break out the plastic, I program them, make sure they work and put them away because I am afraid to lose 60 bucks from a ECM by charlie. Good to have backup though

LOL, don't tell everyone Cimba, I have a reputation to protect!!! lol If I had 2 or 3 receivers being tested with plastic, I guarantee I'd have that private blocker, but since i don't and I have my atmega and magic card testing most of the time i do allright with public blocker, After the June 10th hit, I also invested in a few rom 10's and sold the rom 3's. I didn't lose one in that ECM, but I could have and I think the rom 2's and 3's are the first being swapped out anyway.

Will I rarely use my plastic either but now since my magic and rev got emc thats the only thing I'm using till some fixes are available.

hey guys i know charlie hits the ppv area so i took it off as well so i will see what happens because i got hit twice today at 3:55 and at 5:26 soim gonna try this now and see if it lasts

Yes ppv tiers are still on my plastic but I'v been up like this for 5hrs or more!
