I am getting Location ID 0000001.
It only shows couple of info channels.
I reprogramed the card but no luck.
How do I fix that?

i got the same problem any fix please pm me or post it
Were going to have to reprogram the tsop and we need a sombrero to do that. I sure hope there are some images in the tsop bank for the 71/7200's and I can find a sombrero. Never read or saved the tsop for mine.
The junkyard fix works. And it's a good thing too, because I think I was wrong about the sombrero being able to write as well as read. (I've never used a sombrero)

erase sa5 and restream then try again that's what I did it doesn't seem to be in the stream at the momemt, I could be wrong but it has been up 15 minutes anyway.

SA5 on a 71/7200 receiver? This thread is in refrence to the 71/7200's, not the 27/28/3700 models.

there is no fix for 7200 that i know of this is the first ecm to hit dishplayers
the rumor was true the contract with microsoft expired and WHAM ! but for all of you who had them turned off there IS A WAY NOT TO GET HIT. i have 2 7200 one that is STILL UP AND RUNNING HAD THE OLD TP109 wire connected to the MIC PORT that disables the write to the TSOP until you insert a mic or a head phone in to the jack that will reslase the connection and TSOP will be write inabled I was lucky with 1 of my units but the fix will not be cheap for the one that got hit.

tsop U12 >>pin 16 power up well in the stream wait 15 sec ground pin 16 to the ground
do it for 1/2 min this is the junkyard fix for 7100/7200 do at your own risk
Some folks are saying that you short pin 16 to pin 17 for the junkyard fix on the 71/7200; vs. pin 16 to ground. I havn't tried either yet as I wanted to see some more feedback and I was tired last night. (My 19" monitor and my Liksys 2 port switch also died yesterday) I did snake the how-to for the tsop lock on the 71/7200 from ID though. Uploaded it last night. In the image uploaded it is easy to count the pins and figure out which is pin 16. In real life, those pins are damn close together. The tsop is U42 (not U12) and is located below the HD.

are you saying you got hit and you were able to reset the TSOPs in the 71/7200 units by shorting pin 16 and 17?
We need a fix.
What is this contract rumour with microsoft haven't heard about it.
I just did the junkyard fix. It works. See my Holy Batman post for details.

The 7100/7200 has three TSOP's. The U12 mentioned is under the cardslot as well as U13 the third one.

I tried JT's way for the whole afternoon yesterday but I was unlucky as well as some other forum members.
Now someone mentioned that 7200 IRD have 3 tsop chips and is it possible that all of us who can't fix our IRD's with JT method maybe got hit on one of the others TSOP.
Somebody else wrote that shorting pin 16 and ground fixed their problem.
Which one could it be? Does any of you have any additionla info for this JYF.

my ird its go blank for while and power off no respon from button or remote. when i unplug and plug back in it dose the same. do i have to keep the card and sat in or what? i kept it in im trying this since yesterday but no luck.
The tsop of intrest is U42 under the HD; guess I should have been more specific. My apologies to those who are struggeling with this fix. It did work for me, and I'm very glad it did. There are no guarantees with a procedure of this nature. It's a do at your own risk type of thing. I haven't posted any more specific directions than in my Holy Batman post because there really aren't any. Just do what the picture mk14er posted for 10-12 seconds. Hold the short in place, plug receiver in and count to 12. That's really all there is to it. Sat plugged in but no card. Wait for card propt for that.

Than you need the sombrero and just experiment with it, or keep it as a decor remembrance of the good days that are long gone/ :heads_or_

I give up. Me I getting a sure fire way to fix these beasts.
Got two websites for others who haven't had any luck as well.
http://www.chipquik.com
For a inexpensive way to remove and install the TSOP IC without damage.
and
http://www.willem.org/
for the programmer to flash the TSOP with.
