The worst thing happened today. My PVR 501 receiver gave me this error: "your receiver has a serious error" (not really sure if that is word for word) So I turned it off and then turned it back on. I'm now using my regular smartcard (the one that came with the receiver), but problem is that it will not load up any channels. It just downloads the "congradulations you have a DISH 500" screen. When I click the guide it says that my harddrive is out of date, so it will download the guide. THIS IS WHERE MY PROBLEM IS. It just stays at the download screen forever. (I've left it alone for 30 minutes, but no luck) I've checked the satellite signal and everything is okay. Please help me out. Thanks .
