restreaming

I have a 501 dvr and a 301.10 both subbed M.C. no blockers, both hit
I read about restreaming a 2800 and it said "You erase sa5 3 times and hook up the sattelite feed and plug in the receiver, no card in slot, 5-30 minutes it will force the receiver to restore it owns tsop." will sa5 path work for a 501/301 to?

501... sa54 or sa52 if firmware is P168 it's sa60 in Flash 2.

My software is NP222. 501PVR married sub.

Do I erase sa54 or sa52?
Is sa60 in addition to one of the above? i.e. sa54 and sa60 or sa52 and sa60 or do I erase some other combination.


Also, do I stream without my card (s) and how do I know when it is complete?

Sorry about the noob questions. Been using MC for a while and only had to reflash to get back ppv, never been hit like this.

how do i know what firmware i have?

mrman: For 501 erase SA54 or SA60 (flash2), not both. Stream without the card in slot. You'll notice the light(s) ON IRD but will have a black screen. Leave it alone till - A) The lights go out. B) The screen will prompt you to insert your card.
For 301, erase SA3 in flash1

gearheadib: Go to the system info screen (menu 6 1 3).

To ECM fix my 301.10 yesterday, I erased SA15 in flash 2. It updated in about 10 min and I was back in business....with that receiver anyway. Now I just have to cross my fingers and hope the junkyard fix will work with the 7200.

Weird....SA15 in flash 2 is usually for the .013 models...

erased sa54 on Flash 1 many times. Now when I plug in, it boots and lights up....then shuts down, no lights, nothin.

Insert my subed cam, and same thing. Hit power, boots, lights, shuts down.

Ideas?

OK. I think I went too fast and screwed up.

I decided to erase both Flash 1 and Flash 2 and was going to rewrite with the one that I saved (which was post ECM).

Except I only saved Flash 1 since I didn't know there was a Flash 2 when I backed it up. (I know I know...Dumb Noob didn't follow directions....)

Is this recoverable? I rewrote Flash 1 (although known defective) but will straming rewrite Flash 2, or should I stream with both empty and hop they both rewrite.

At this point, I am just trying to get to where I can use the sub I am paying for.
