View Full Version : 7100/7200 Junk Yard Fix

There are some testers reported they had successfully revived their 7100/7200 with the junk yard fix. Basically 7100/7200 are like 3000 grey box with hard drives.
They jump pin # 16 of TSOP (U12) to ground and perform the junk yard fix as normal.
There's no confirmation on this, so you might want to wait to see if it is confirmed @ id-discussions or not. Do NOT blame me if anything goes wrong..
Just FYI ..

hi.. i sent you a pm, but here it is..
someone said you have to ground out pin16 on the U12 chip..
i found the chip, it's under the card slot in the receiver, but don't know
where the pin 16 contact is, and where to ground it to.... if anyone could help me, i'll try it..
thanks

Not to sound dumb but what is "junk yard fix"? I read a bunch on 7200 but never saw that file or term. I have the sombaro device but didn't back up tsop. need
BWDD and BWDD if anybody has them.
Thanks

i've been reading and some say they have had success on using this fix for the 7200. same one they've used on the 3000, 4000 etc...
but i need to know the location of the pins, and i'd try it...
anyone??

should be a little dot on top of the chip at pin 1
I have done the fix on my 7200 and it was working well until i got hit again ( my stupidity i guess, had to redo my card for the ppv string).. been trying to repeat my steps and so far i'm getting nothing.. has anyone had any luck doing the fix tonite? Many are having trouble (sounds like they are doing things right) and there is speculation that the firmware may be out of the stream or slowed down substantially...
just checking to see if anyone has had any success since early this evening?

The jyf did not do anything to my ird.
Even if the update is not in the stream shouldn't the junk yard fix at least wide the tsop?
