3800/3900 erased sector 30 wiil not take update

Hi To all.
I have jtaged my 3800/3900 receiver. Went in and cleared sector 30. Put back in streem. At first receiver powers up (green light comes on) and I get the dark screen on the tv. After about 5 min receiver turns off. I left it in this state over nite with no change. I have tryed whole process over 3 times and the same thing happens. What should my next step be. Please help. 3900 software likes to do that. You will need to dump the entire flash and reload it along with eeprom. I find virgin copies work best and let it stream update again.

I had exact same problem with my 3800/3900.
I erased entire flash then reflashed and am up and running.

Hi to all.
OK, I did a lot of reading and downloaded copys of the how to on flash edit and ecm repair etc. In birdiemod reply, he said to dump the entire flash and reload it along with eeprom.
Since I cleared sector 30 is it still pasable to use flash edit for repair? Or do I just erase flash and eeprom and find a new one in the file section? Your help is appreceated. Woody

Hi To all.
Ok, I made copys of my tsop flash and eeprom flash in jkeys, then I went to flash edit and did the saves and then reflashed receiver. Powered up ok. Woody.
