Just for the record ppl:
I know that there is a guy in NYC who fixes 7100/7200 for about $50.
Two of my friends already got their IRDs fixed. He refused to say what is it exactly
he's doing with them, but he mentioned sombrero.
So the question is how the hell did he use sombrero to write TSOP back to receiver?
I used FreeHATeng and FreeHATeng updated version, as well as HatRack and none of them are able to flash tsop. FreeHateng (both of them) says that "write bin" is coming soon and HatRack has his "program" and "EEPROM" buttons disabled.
The thing that the option itself is there, or coming soon makes me think that it is possible to flash, but how.... I've been looking all over and didn't find anything able to write TSOP back.
Any ideas/suggestions ?

If you remove the tsop chips and put them into a eprom programmer you can flash them. I doubt he's going to that much effort though.

is a start....but I assume you are there.. the key is the u42 chip TSOP get the specs on it...
>:)
then look at the other tsop jtag reader writers. did you see the plcc conversion?
once you built the hardware you can reflash as fast as a jtag and make that $50 from everyone hehe

Need I say more?

SInce I doubt the stream will have the DP soon.

A needhams electronics EMP30 and a chip socket to fit the tsop is all you need.

I have been copying chips since 1981. This new money the us puts out made my fortune, Over 1 billion locations with dollar bill acceptors times average 5 at each location. New 20 bill= lots of copied new chips, New 10 = lots of copied chips, New 5... Now new 20 again.. I love this new money stuff.......

BrideMod,
Are you saying it needs to be unsoldered first and then put into the socket ?
Or you can do it like sombrero ?

Birdie,

How do we fix the 7200?
the junk yard fix does not work.
I was told these recievers rewrite themselves.
