Can you use dtv Dish with Dish net

Hi guys, i've got a friend who wants to try out dishn et but all his hardware is form DTV. I know he will have to buy a new receiver aswell as a rom card and or magic card. But can he use his DTV dish with dishnet? I beleive hes got a DTV dish that has multi lnb's on it not sure what it is called.
