I have a ECMd receiver. Should I backup the ECMd TSOP and use the ECM fix and softlock feature in Flashedit 2.0 and reprogram the receiver using jkeys?
If yes, would this still require restreaming? If so, after restreaming, would my softlock still be there?
Thanks in advance

This is what i'm thinkikng.
Using jkeys and the quad mode jtag connected, i read the ECMd tsop from the receiver and save it. Then using Flashedit, I use fix ecm and softlink feature and save it again. After that, I reprogram the new fixed and softlinked TSOP using jkeys to the receiver.

Yeah that would work for a receiver....but I still don't understand how you can fix an ECMd TSOP on a Magic Card since it has no TSOP ....

Wait i'm confused, are you asking me how to do it from a magic card? Because I dont know where you brought magic card into this discussions. Magic card is indepenedent of this issue. I'm simply talking about fixing the ECMd receiver.

There, it's now in the right place. Shut up, Indal - you sound exactly like my X wife. :p
JacKal, you can take the long way around the house and erase/reprogram the entire TSOP, if you're wanting to do the softlock thing...or you just erase the appropriate sector from your receiver's TSOP, in JKeys, and restream it.

Thanks for the reply. After restreaming though, I should put a softlock on right? Will it work for my 4900?
Correct me if i'm wrong, but in order to put a softlock on, I would have to back up the TSOP after restreaming it, and with flashedit i apply the softlock and then program the recevier again, correct?
thanks
i'm sorry, if i'm asking too many questions. But i'm new and just want to get this ECM that we all got last week fixed. And I wish to put a softlock on it.
someone else suggested that, it might be easier for me to just download the 4900 TSOP w/softlock from the tsop bank and program the receiver; but will any 4900 TSOP work with my receiver?
If you could asnwer these questions, it'd be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance

This is correct, JacKal....
I don't own a 4900, but I assume there would be no problem. Make DAMN SURE you back up everything...that way, if there IS a snag, you can put it back like it was...
