Ok guys, I come to you because I currently own a 3700 IRD which does the job, but I have sometimes problems with the Magic Card when displaying the menu and everything. The menu isnīt that cute either ... I was used to the menus of dave's recievers and so on ...

well the question is ... which reciever do you think is one of the best, when it comes to menus, performance and is compatible with the MC ... and can be easily JTAGged...

please don't tell me the 3700 is my best bet !!! :repuke:

501 would be my first choice. Nice menu with program viewing (menu is up and you are still watching you current channel), Record and playback feature. Catch your favorite show while you take her to dinner. :)

It is a pretty neat little box. Now a 721 wouldn't be bad either, same features but with two tuners, so you can view P-in-P or record one ballgame as your watching another. Digital Dolby with fiber connectors is way cool if you have the DD 5.1 surrond system on either system. (I think the 721 has DD and fiber connector too, I know the 5xx series does)

The 721 is a great unit, but I don't think it will work with a magic card.

Thanx for the reply guys .... I knew you could lead me to the right choice.

You all agree with speed then? ... I liked the part about taking her to dinner while I record my show ... you dont know how many monday night games Ive missed becuase of that dudes!!! LOL!!

So it does work with the MC???? that's cool. For me investing in a new reciever means a whole month's salary here or maybe more... so I wanna make a good choice and dont wanna end up biting my balls after I buy it.

But I trust what u guys are telling me ... Im gonna look for a 501 for myself

Thanx for replying guys and SPEED thanx for the detailed description ... really needed that !!!
