I got an ECM on my 3900, and iam using the MC. so i went and i cleaned my flash , put the card back in and it took too long for the IRD to come online, it was downloading new sftware and it asked not to be disturbed, but i knew something is wrong, cuz i can see the IRD green light onn and off. so i unpluged it and went on to jkey one more time. however, i noticed that the software version was all YYYYYY with dots on top of it.i think i tried to clean it or flash it and i kept getting an error "Error reading from DCU Control Register"
when i opened the Jkey 2.9910." Error reading from IRD(DCU Peek)"
and when i try to get the flash programing ,by clicking on the botton i get all ffffffffffff returned , sayen Jkey cant recognize .....
and i cant go to the flash it doesnt .and the box keys are not there and the ird is unknown. only few information is showing. So i realy need to clean it, and i cant ,or programed it and i cant anymore. can you help.

I have the same reciever and the same proublem. I got around the dcu peek by installing new batteries in the jtag. Also sometimes I have to plug in the reciver and hit check ird within 3 secs and it will read it then.

This happens when the IRD is ECM'd real good. Make sure that your IRD is off. Sometimes those 3900s wont go off unless you use a remote. Then make sure you turn it off for a good 5 seconds before turning it back on and trying to flash into it.
BUT...really you have to try like a dozen times sometimes before you can get in, but be patient, you will.

Can't remember if it's good for this model or not, but there was something about soldering a piece of wire from pad1 to the ground strip...
Have you tried that?

how do you get around the card not auturized for this receiver with the 3900.
i did not disturb and i let it update the receiver. should i have done that. i also erased the flash and programed it with a 2700 and tried to get bev and got the same message. i can put it on the channels but it keeps giving me the nag and won't let the channel come through. using the m/c

You didn't enter the correct IRD# when you programmed your card.

Or else charlie changed the ird#/boxkeys in the update (happens occasionally) check in jkeys and reprogram your card to match info in latest read.

IRD #'s & boxkeys cannot be changed by a FW update.

But they can by a latent ecm burried in the update.

What??? You're saying that Charlie (or BEV) can change your IRD# & boxkeys by an ECM or FW update? No they can't.

I've personally had box keys changed by an ECM and read 3 reports of same. I've read one report of an IRD # switch.

Ok...boxkeys, perhaps they would. I know they definately can but they would never change the IRD#.
BTW, I've never heard from anyone I know in the testing community that a sat provider had done this. If it's happened to you, well then you're the first (that I've heard from first hand).

I never conversed with the others, just read it in a post that was directed at someone else. It's very dirty pool. It took me about 4 hours of reprogramming cards before I checked the IRD and noticed the boxkeys had been changed. I;d only been testing charlie for about a month and everyone on the forum I was on at the time kept telling me I was programming the boxkeys wrong on the card. I kept checking them against the backup I had using flashedit and not the ird itself. Oh well, we live and learn.

i checked the box key and nothing has changed. and i checked the ird and nothing has changed. I apreciate the help though. How can it be putting the same cam id on the system check every time i reprogram no matter what cam id i put on the card. I hate bothering you but i really need help. I use to be the helper when dtv was around but now i am helpless untill i figure out all this dish and bev stuff

never mind Chapster99 but thanks for teh reply i found out what teh problem was. i copy and pasted teh ird and box keys from jkeys and it had spaces between teh digets. i took all teh spaces out of teh digets and now it works fine. so you were kind of rite about the ird number being wrong. it was rite but with teh spaces in between teh digits it was teh same as being wrong. Thanks man

Are you loading a patch in nagra? If so, check to see if it has a line that is writing the Cam ID.
