I finally got my 721 today and followed all the instructions in regards to pulling the BoxKey etc.
All is good , but I get no picture. I can get the whole guide, but no picture, I do get the top 101 of course. Does this mean the bokkey number I am using is wrong? Or am I using the wrond IRD number or is it something else. I noticed when I ran the dp721_1.exe and I entered in from 3FF90 the ird number displayed was on digit to long. So I am using the IRD number that the 721 shows under "info" . So I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any ideas?

Sounds Like You Didn't Get The Correct Numbers From The Dump Screen? Wrong IRD# Will Generate Error #020, Wrong BoxKeys Will Generate A Blank Screen w/Channel Headers. I Had To Use Three Different TV's Before I Was Sure Of The Numbers And Letters. My 52" TV Displayed The Dump Screen Best.

Oh no I totally scrwed up. I wrote down and recorded the wrong info.
I went to 3FF90 not 3FFF90 I need better glasses. Now my 721 has been hooked up to the Sat stream and has updated to the lastes software I no longer have L054. So I assume now if I go back into the diag dump screen and go to 3FFF90 now the info will be wrong. Am I totally screwed?

I Believe You Are Totally Screwed? If You Go back To The Diagnostics Dump Screen, You WIll Render The Unit Useless From What I Have Read.

Hmm. Oh well. The life of a tester. Win some loose some. Totally my fault. did not RTFM close enough. Sure wish my 7200 still worked. So is my 721 dead? Meaning I can't even call dish to activate it?

Hey Kuau did you record the dump on your vcr while doing this? If so, you should be able to replay it back and find your boxkeys. I mean even though you wrote down the wrong ones the full list of codes would still be on your video tape. Hope you recorded it. All I can offer.

Did it come with a blue card? Only thing I can think of now is to sub the unit with your blue card (if you have one) and read the boxkeys from the card after its activated. Never tried this with a 721 but it should work. Sorry, can't think of anything else.
