View Full Version : 7100 hookup ??????????

I got one 7200 with old web TV sw, which was stuck in the begining, as it always want to update, before going further. I did managed to change the harddrive image, which solved the purpose, now it reads 7100. Problem is I can not get even signal for sat 119, no matter what I do. other receiver works fine. Even changed the LNB, switch wire, still same.
All suggestions are welcome

Try hooking up 119 direct (no switch) and see if you get it that way.

Is it OK to update? It is ver. 123. The other receiver with same ver. is fine and with same configuration.

I was think of that, still have only changed the switch, but never tried without it. Will try now.

Do I have to have my 7200 turned on in order to receive a firmware update? What about having a card in?

Plug it in with no card and don't hit the power button. If it starts to update, the power led will be erratic. If it doesn't do anything, put the card in.

I think I found the prob. the s/w ver. is 115, not 123, as I thought previously. Will let it update and keep my fingers crossed.

How are you going about updating your firmware. I've never done it before and my 7200 has been out of the stream for a while.

Oooooph!!!
Finally got it. Everything working fine now, just need the s/w upgrade. I connected to sat 119 w/o switch, power it off, took off the card, put the 1/8 pin in mic jack to disable the lock, and 3 min. later I had ver. 124, so the update is in the stream!!
