I got my dish installed and on some transponders i have signal strength in the 80's then I have one transponder 25 that is only in the 60's and I cant even watch anything from that transponder when i flip threw it gives the aquireing sat signal?. My question is why is it like that is that normal my way of thinking is if you hit the satelite they should all be pretty close I would think?

Im using a 3700 receiver and I just have a reg. dish pointing at the 110 sat.

Thank you

Use Tranponder 11 to check your signal strenth. The reciever will change to different transponders on its own for the channel you are viewing. Some transponders are "Spotbeamed" and you will have no or poor signal on those, Don't worry, That is normal.

BirdieMod -
If you are pointed to Sat110 you will only get channels from that Sat.
Download a program called Rom Tier Maker and you can see what channels
are on Sat 110. If I had to choose then I would go to Sat 119, because it has
more programming for me. Or as "caminodelsol" says -- look for dish500 legacy twin they can pickup sat 119 and 110. To get both Sats the dish needs to be
skewed(rotated)Dish500 dishes have that adjustment on the back.
Make sure if you don't have the newer Dish Pro receivers(301 & newer)don't
buy a Dish Pro Lnb.

im using a dish 500 dish and a directv lnb. I only really care about the 110 for movies and sports. The funny thing is I get good signal on the spot beam transponders in the 70's and then on the others Im only in the 40's and some in the 30's that dont work at all.
