(1) When in JTAG you can see a flash1 and a flash 2 in the drop down window does it mean there are 2 TSOP chips ( I mean can JTAG sense there are 2) or is 2 always prompted.
(2) I have found 2 differant instructions on TSOP address erasing.........one says on the 301.010 "address SA3 flash1 (2x2tsops) DO NOT mess with flash2"........the other says "address SA3 in flash 1 SA15 in flash 2 (2x2 tsop)". Which is correct

If you have a 301.010 it does have 2 chips. You also want to follow Birdies advice about erasing SA3 on flash 1. Flash 2 (U23) is better left alone. If you erase up flash 2 you can fix it (if you have a backup of it), but it is a pain in the ass.

1) You should look at your reciever to see if you have 2 flash chips or just 1. All the 301.010 I've seen however have 2 flash chips
2) This is how I do it. Aim my dish first, program my card to desired provider, and erase SA3 3-5 times. I do 5 just so I dont have to do it all over again if it didn't actually erase. Only takes about 1 second for each erase anyway.
This works for me. Good Luck.

For ECM repair on dual tsop 301.10, erase SA3 on tsop 1; for dual tsop 301.13, erase SA15 on tsop 2. I screwed up last weekend and accidentally erased SA15/tsop2 on a 301.10 and it did recover by itself, but it took about 30 min.
