No Sub card question

Is there any benefit to having a card with no sub?

Or would running mc camless or atmega be a better option?

I mean if I'm shopping for a receiver should I be looking for a good card with it to, or forget the card?

You can use MC with plastic or without.
So if you want to do plastic get a receiver with a blue card and hope it is not locked.
You can also use MC with an exsubbed card if you can jtag and get the box keys
