I have been trying to jtag a Bev 3100 ird with a quad mode jtag. The receiver is in working order but before i test with it i want to read and save the tsop and eeprom.I can get it to detect ok.The first screen comes up(ird # box keys etc...)but when i hit flash programming i get LSI control unavailable, using slow programming, then flash codes returned are not recognized by jkeys Mfg/device codes returned are FFFF/FFFF(JEDEC) and FFFF/FFFF(Flashfile) I have tried to unplug the ird and plug back in but no go.I have searched this out but have not come up with a solution.
Any ideas.
Thanks,

Sounds like you are not properly connected..................

If it is working then you really do not need to enter program mode to back it up. Open jkeys and detect the ird, If you get ird boxkeys info etc then use the "Save mem" option, Do this twice, Once for flash 1 and again for flash2. Don't worry about saving the eeprom as you can make a new one easily with flashedit2 from the 2 flash backups. Actually, After you save both flashes, You can open them anyway in flashedit2 just to make sure the files are good.

ok i did that but when i try to open the 2 flashes with flashedit it won't let me cause it says the checksums are not right. Why is that ?

Sounds like you have a jtag problem then. The quad modes had alot of defective units sent out.
Keep the cable short, Do not try adding extensions to it or errors. Plug your receiver in the same outlet as your computer to help reduce ground loop problems. The one jumper should be set to write and the other to the left or closest to the read/write jumper. Plug the ribbon cable in the lower 3100 connector.
If none of this helps, Take the hood off the connector that plugs into your printer port, Many of these were misaligned and or soldered very poorly. Look closely at that.

I have jtaged my 2700 many times with it so i know it works good for it.I changed the jumper over to the write side and re jtaged it again.I get a full dump for both flashes.I opened the flashes up with flashedit and i still get a checksum problem. When i click on advanced to look at the info all the ird specific info is correct and the build software info is also correct, but in the checksum area the bootstrap and Aap area CS do not match the proper numbers.Maybe there is a problem with the receiver. Is there a way to fix this ?

In FlashEdit make sure you have the flashes in the correct order in the selection windows, it won't open them if reversed.
Also, select 301/3100 before opening the flashes, don't let FlashEdit trty to detcet the correct one, sometimes that don't work.

I have tried both orders and have selected 301/3100 but it always comes up the same with the checksums not matching.
