Hex files

Sorry again guys, everyone must hate me here...can someone explain to me these things...basically, how do they differ from a 3M or an activation?

If I just write a HEX file to my card, will it work?

Yes if the hex has a valid bin in it with the script(3m) and.....
No if its just a hex with script(3m) on it. GTG.....;)
