I need help fixing my Rom10. Here's what I did...
1. started with a new virgin Rom10 that I purchased.
2. did a "read from card".
3. backed up and saved the original image on the card (.bn10).
4. did a "one step clean"
5. opened up Private Rom10 bin IMAGE my cousin sent me.
6. went into "data editor" and entered my ird# (hex), box keys, time zone, and zip code(hex).
Here's where it gets wird...
In my cousin's email, when he sent me the Image file, he said I should lock up the card. So he gives me the instructions on how to lock up the card...
1. In the "data editor" tab, above "Data Space", click on "Code Space".
2. In the bottom right corner, "number of bug cather" (default is 00), change to 0A.
3. Then write to card.
I followed his instructions and when I did a card read, I had the following error:
"Opening of COM1 was successful
Reset failed
Error reseting card, ATR string invalid
Closing of COM1 was successful"
Then I tried to remove the lock off and reprogram the card, but I ran into more problems. In NagraEdit 4.1 it said:
"Opening of COM1 was successful
Removing card lock
Closing of COM1 was successful
Bad communications, try again"
I called the cousin and he told me the instructions were for a Rom3. He told me I wasn't suppose to lock the Rom10. He said I probably did a software lock or looped the card. He said it was repairable, but didn't know how to fix it. I got really upset and was about to kill this cousin. His email instructions were not detailed and confusing.
I've tried different programs to unlock or unloop the card (Mrom, ATR Resurrection, Rom Popper, etc...)
Has this happened to anyone? Can anyone please help me? I appreciate any help or advise. Thanks!

Send a few hundred packets of bug busters through it. After they go through try a reset. increase the number of bug busters if you need to repeat the process and pull the card in and out of the programmer for every time the process bar goes up. Don't be afraid to repeat the process 20 times if necessary, this may unloop the card. I've seen where it has worked for others who looped their cards theirselves during programming.

Crazy,
I've tried that process already. Will it work for a Rom10, cuz I could only select Rom2 or Rom3? I'll try a few more times. Thanks for helping.

well in ur nagra 4.1 open up ur bin u saved and try to write to card but first uninstall nagra edit and reinstall it and if that dont work then u can open ur bin again and check in bug catcher and see if its at 00 then try to write back to card but it sounds like u messed it up really good

open nagraedit, on the top of the screen it say card (right next to file) click on that, at the bottom of the drop down box it says bug busters, click on that, select a number (start anywhere you want, even one) then run bug busters. reset card see if you have atr. if you do not, goto bug busters and select a higher number of times to send to card. also try pulling card in and out while bug busters is running, like every time the progress bar moves with 4096 selected packets. I think 4096 is the number of packets alot of people use and they pull the card out and put it back in every time the progress bar moves a notch.

My mistake, I didn't realize their wasn't a rom 10 option. Sorry, I don't think you should try it if it is not for a rom 10, but what do you have to loose?

When I run the Rom10 opener in WinExp I get the following error..
Trying to reset card...
Reset Failed!
