Receiver Smoked

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can Get a schematic of a 420 receiver.
One of mine smoked last week.I sat watching TV and saw a glow come from it,Then it went dead.Opened it up and there are some burnt resistors and caps.
If someone can point me in the right direction It would be much appreciated.

send me an e-mail address, I'll send 420 schematics, won't do you much good tho, unless you are really good with switch mode power supplies, the low voltage side usually fails first taking out the high voltage side, so just fixing what burnt wont do. Find and fix low voltage problem first then go to high voltage side. Usually a blown switching diode on the low side.

I have identical problem with 420 but no burning parts. It’s not powered ON. Would you please send me 420 schematics and may be some advise where to look for a problem?

Would you please save me some time and tell the chassis part number for a switching diode on the low side which usually a blown.

I was checking CR14108 diode in DRD420 (it is ok) and got to dead CR14104 (BYW98).
Is anyone knows if diode CR14104 (BYW98) can be replaced by Rectifier Diode (3 amps 200PIV) from the RadioShack if not which one will?

No, don't use a rectifier diode, that location requires more than a rectifier is capable of.
BYW98-200 is the correct one, NTE has a replacement, not sure if it's NTE586 or 587, but a NTE supplier will cross it for you.

Just checked the cross and it's a NTE588 200v, 3A, FAST recovery......
