My cousins just gave me their old DirecTV dish. I measured it, and it's 18 x 20 inches. It's got one "arm" on the front... I don't want to call it an lnb because I'm not sure how to determine wether it's single or dual. What I need to know is this:

1. How do I tell wether or not this will get both 110 and 119?
2. How many recievers is it possible for me to hook this up to? It has two cables coming out of it... should I assume two recievers?
3. When would I need to use a switch? Does it need one when it's just connected to one IRD?

1) I did a SEARCH for "Charlie on a dave dish" and came up with the following thread: http://www.dssftp.com/forum/upload/showthread.php?t=26056&highlight=charlie+dave+dish

2) You have a dual lnb. This puts one satellite onto two irds. A search of dual lnb returns the following: http://www.dssftp.com/forum/upload/showthread.php?t=25345&highlight=single+dual+lnb

3) A basic switch switches 1 ird between 2 satellites )called sw21) the bigger switches do more sat's or more recievers or more of both. See above thread (#2)

Yes a DTV dish and lnb will work. Well it did on mine. I was given a 301.013 (yeah im cheap) ird so i realined my dtv dish plugged in the 301 and walla I got DN's main bird. Then i tried it on 2 other DN's birds and it worked. I was also given a DTV triple lnb dish (yep cheap again) for the HD channels. It doesnt seem to pick up any DN's birds. I think its the built in switch.
