HD dtv setup

can anyone tell me what i need to get HD dtv? i have a HD tv and a regular older ird with an avenger. do i need to get a HD oval dish and a new HD dtv receiver, or just a HD oval dish.

Yes you need to purchase both items. Make sure that the dish has the capability to show showtime HDTV station. You will receive 509 and 543 in HDTV, plus 198 and 199. That's all I get in HDTV as of now. If locals channels are broadcasting in HDTV you will also receive those. A few will be added this year.

hey guys thanks, i wish i didnt have to buy the recever. the dish i could handle but the recever was 600.00. any body know of anywhere to get one cheaper? jack
