30 gauge wire

im gearing up to do a vid mod and was wondering is CAT5 equivelent to 30 gauge wire? :rolleyes:

I'm not sure, I think it's 28 guage. I've heard reputable people say that CAT5 works just fine though. Try it and see. I'm sure it will work.

wire is wire...........30ga. is just small wire, small enough to fit the tiny places the need soldered to with out damaging the board, you can use just about any wire if you can get it connected without shorting anything or pulling any traces up.

i used 30 gage on my vid mod but i use cat 5 wire for my j tag and they both worked just fine
