i f you haved saved tsop 1 or 2 and the eeprom ground pin1 arease flash 1 -- 3 times and then program it do the same with flash 2 the eeprom you just program it and unplug the rec and un do the ground from pin 1

I just hooked up the jtag, then went into flash programing, and re wrote the flashes i backed up, and it worked.

"errors 1/250(JEDEC)DFFF/FFFF with jumper 0J1 on or off doesnt matter"
with those errors, how is he going to jtag it and reflash????

I 've got both lights on too, I've got U6 and U7 backed up, plugged it in and nothing, just the red and green lights , tried to go to flash programming and it says "error clearing trap handler workspace" and could not initiate access".
I tried this from another thread but still get the errors.....
"i read here on this site that someone had the same proble i was having and someone showed them a shortcut to fix the flashes and make jkeys work again.so here goes. hope i get this right. 1st you have to dl wall2.12. i know that most everyone has jkeys so i wont tell them to dl that.ok open wall upit'll state warning id not correct. dont worry about that.now click on action and erase flash at1fc00000 about three times. now heres the trick.load a u7 flash in the input flie name box.change the length of file from 200000 to 60000. it has to be 60000.ok i stress 60000. ok make sure you are on the 1fc00000 not the other one. change if necessary. should look like 1fc00000 length of hex 60000. now write to card using action at top.after youve wrote the file then go to jkeys and open it up.the box keys ect. will be all ffff's and such. thats ok.youre allmost done.heres the trick hit flash programming and dont pull the power cord when it tells you.i repeat DONT PULL THE POWER CORD WHEN IT TELLS YOU.just hit ok and itll open up and you can erase u6 3 times and u7 3 times and program u7. you dont have to program u6 it'll update in the stream. after youve programmed u7 and erased u6 the put a eeprom dump on it and go hook it up and plug the power in and it should update and all should be well with you.like i said i read this here on this site and it helped me abunch with my wife and kids . hope this helps some1 in need cause we alll need alittle help every now and then,n2k outta here for now,good bye.

Wall erased the sector ok, but now jkeys won't let me flash or save memory

Wall is not needed to work with a 501/508..................wall was written specifically for a 301-010....................it can be made to work with others but it is not needed...........

does anyone know I'm getting these errors with jkeys? It is recognizing the 501,
but it won't read or write to the flash. Lock is off, OJ1 is jumpered ,and pin 1 is grounded.

Maybe a little more information needed.
1. Have you verified that both Tsops's are DT's?
2. What version of Jkeys are you using?
3. Have you installed a D/L?
If you have a GT Tsop, then the OJ1 will not work. I use the 301_508 Jkeys Def file in the downloads section.
Also, my 501 when the OJ1 is enabled both lights are on. Might also be the case with pin 1 grounded, but have not verified.

Do boxkeys and receiver number show in jkeys?
What are the flash chip types?
Have you done anything else, like vid mod or digital lock?
If U7 is a Gt chip, the vid mod will be nescessary..........

the chips are DT, installed AR105C (lock is off), Oj1 is jumped, but jkeys won't detect anything anymore. Jtag is good, I switched it from another receiver.
I think the tsops are fried, I erased them in Wall 2.2 and sinced then it's acting like a paperweight.

I would double check that D/L installation. Had it worked prior or did you just isntall it? Maybe the WE's are mixed up or something of that sort. With what you posted so far, I don't think the Tsop's are fried, something else is wrong. Wall probably just erased enoguh that that your unit looks to be dead.
Does Jkeys recognize the proccessor type? (Upper left corner in Jkeys)
You can always undo the D/L and jump the cut trace until you get it working again.
THen re-install the D/L. I had to re-do one of mine twice becasue of improper connections and soldering.

Jkeys does'nt recognize the model or proceesor
I could read and write fine ,until I installed the lock , but I had both lights on and the hard would spin whenever it powered up. After the lock install it won't do anything,just those red and green lights on and jkey cannot detect.

Are you sure the lock is connected to power correctly?
Best thing is to pull the lock loose and repair the trace, get the receiver working, then worry about lock.

I pulled the AR105C ,and replaced the trace cut (i hope) now jkeys reads the info, but I still can't get to flash programming. Errors about trap handling.
Tonight is trash night, you might see it out at the curb!

The OJ1 jumper usually will fix that......

You will on occasion get errors with OJ1 connected, reboot the receiver and try again.
What error do you get?

tried every version I could find 2.018, 2.910, 2.911. 2.9.9
I 'm ready to give up..I've read alot of forums and this seems to be pretty common with the 501's. Maybe someone will fix it.

yep, i have the same exact symptoms on my 501. have 2 DT tsops, recognizes 501, but nothing else. can't flash, can't save... nada! i'm also ready to send this to charlie junk pile heaven... lol
