Why can't I use my j31 to jtag my 301.013

get someone tell me why, is it the pads on top...If it is can i still read it underneath the board, What do I do.....I want my boxkeys!!!!

If you correctly connect the jtag to the top pads, the jtag will work fine.

Can't use it because the 013 has more pads than a 010 and different layout. You need a J13 or remove the PCB from the case and Jtag it from below.

what does this mean (pcb) stands for what ? the board ? flip it upside down ?

There is no way of popping the board out, without f-ing something.....

take the cover off unscrew all the screw on the PCB then unscrew the nuts around the coaxial connectors on back and take the screw out of the RCA cable connector and then lift the board out and flip it over.

What version of Jkeys are you using?

PCB stands for Printed Circuit board. Are you using version C of jkeys? I mean you can take it all apart and go from the bottom or fed-ex it, but I just wanted to make sure you were using a version of jkeys that can read a 301-013 first.. Just trying to help, good luck

A jtag can be configured to work with any jtaggable receiver, you may have to cut the pins of and solder it, but it will work.

Do you have a sketch or instructions on how to convert a J31 Jtag reader so that you can use it to read the Box Keys from the top JTAG on a 301-013 receiver?

I got nothing! it's been sitting here collecting dust! I just purchase a Universal DUAL BATTERY Powered & BUFFERED JTAG for my dp 301.013.....I hope this one works...Illl send you my j31 if you want it !!!!

sorry bout that, i tried to upload a file that i got when i bought my jtag. i can't seen to do it, but if you stay in this forum, go down to the thread called "jkeys flash" read this thread. in it the file i wanted to send you is 15 posts down, and 5 posts down there is a version of jkeys that will work with the .13(i know it will work cause i used it with mine). hope this helps. the file has diagrams of different ways to jtag including from the top.
