I have a Direct PC dish, the big oval one used for the old internet service that is also TV ready. Will that hit the birds I need for dish network ?

Thanx in advance

I can't find the "how to", but I believe this will work if you change the lnb's. Here is the setup for a dtv plus (which is a similar, if not same dish) http://www.switchinfo.info/dtv+.html
The main issues will be dish surface area, distance of lnb's from dish surface and centerring +/- of lnb's. If you take a tape measure to best buy, you can tell them you're thinking about getting service and want to measure the plus dish to see if it will fit where you want to put it. Compare these measurements to yours and give it a shot.

Basically a dish is a dish is a dish, just a reflector to direct microwaves into the lnb........the old DTV dish that was for internet service will work fine, you need another lnb. That one had 2 way communication with the satellite for internet service.

Skinerd,
If I understand your post, the DTV lnb won't work? I've seen lots of posts using the old lnb's (I think) to get the dish sats. If there is another lnb needed, what is it? I'm in the process of trying to set up a Pansat 2500A to an old DTV dish using two of the old lnb's strapped together.
Thanks,

Skinerd,
Never mind....I just re-read the posts and now understand this all started with an internet style dish which has non-standard lnb's on it.
Sorry,

It still might work, I am not too familiar with that dish, if it had a seperate lnb for internet and one for TV then the internet one won't work, but the one for TV will, if it used a single lnb for both internet and TV then it should also work. One thing I do know about that dish is the aim was very critical because it actually transmitted back to the satellite.
With some trial and error, you can adapt it to receive dishnet.
