End of Smart Cards?

I found a letter in a newsgroup that said DTV was going to be sending all their customers new IRDs that do not use smart cards. Has anyone heard anything about this? Is it true? I will try to find the letter and post it...

Is anything unhackable ?, I personally do not think so, if there is a will there is a way. I believe the testing hobby will be here for a long time. I also can not see DTV sending all current and future customers new cardless IRD's, the price and time frame to accomplish this is crazy, GTG.

Nobody ever said DAVE was smart, he tries but is beat, GTG.
He actions or methods are not necessary correct or the best either as history has proven this.
