After the recent blackouts with Dish, i tried to put my subbed card into my IRD and it didnt work, all the channles were red. the only thing that i could get is the PPV guides. I am running three DP 301.010 recievers with magic cards. and my legit cards are rom 10x's. I was just wondering if this was a problem i have to call charlie on, or is there something i can do my self.

Have you reprogramed your TSOP back to it's original state? If so and it still won't work OR you didn't back up your TSOP then your fucked.

I don't think you're f*cked.
Put your sub card in the ird.
Turn to channel 101.
Go take a walk/take a nap/eat dinner/read a book until the decrypt key, that charlie just changed, updates on your card.
In most cases, this is working for your test cards as well.
If not, do a search for black screen fix and find the post with the new decrypt key.
Change it in the data editor tab of Nagraedit.
There is even a post with a patch called BSR10.ep10 (or something similar) that will rewrite that decrypt key for you.
I had the same problem and tried everything.
I gave up and called Charlie.
I bitched them out ( to make them think it was their problem)
They were able to fix it on their end and I got my sub working again.

thanks for the replies everyone, i fixed the first problem. now i have another question. I have two dishes up a 500 and 300 for the 148 bird. i have three 301.010 IRD's running and two older models going, i think 3700's. I was wondering what switch i would need if i were to connect the dish 300 to one of my dp 301's and leave just one of the 3700's or would it be easier to just replace the lnb on the 300 dish with a dish pro lnb and get a sw 21 switch.

For the benefit of others reading the thread, please post specifics of what helped and anything you discovered in the attempt.
I have two dishes up a 500 and 300 for the 148 bird.
what kind of lnbs? single, dual, legacy, old dtv?

Are you trying to rig to run all five at the same time?

Not sure what you're trying to accomplish, but here is some general compatability info:
Any receiver with "dp" in the name will work with any charlie lnb, any bev lnb, and older dave lnbs. They will not work with dave data lnbs, dave "Sat-C" lnbs, or other brands (pansat, etc.)
All older receivers will only work with "legacy" lnbs. these are the charlie/bev lnbs that don't have "dp" stamped on them and the older dave lnbs that were used for regular channel reception (not superdish sat c or internet).
Switches that have dp in them only work with dp lnbs and dp receivers.
Legacy switches work with only legacy lnbs, but this combination can be used with either legacy or dp receivers.
Dave switches don't work with any charlie receivers.
Switches
SW21 - 1 input from 110, 1 input from 119 (can use alternate sats) output to 1 receiver
SW21X - functions as sw21 when alone or supplies 1 out put to an SW21 from 110/119 to so that 2nd SW21 input can have another satellite to allow 3 sat's at a time
SW44 - 4 inputs from 2 dual lnbs (1 on each of 2 sats) allows 2 lnbs to output to 4 receivers
SW64 - 6 inputs from 3 dual lnbs (1 on each of 3 sats) allows 3 lnbs to output to 4 receivers
There are dp versions of these switches and some dp lnbs have a switch built in.
There are also adapters to make legacy receivers work with dp lnbs and dp switches, but I've seen mixed reviews on how well they work.
