I have a couple recivers 3800 3900 301 that run the 5 step test reboot and rerun the 5 step again and again man that sucks. I am using Milli's PB on rom10 cards

I am primarily working on the 3900 right now and I have completly erased the tsop
and reflashed it and the eprom I have tried the sector erase method and I have dumped the NVRam all with no luck. Next move is to try a rom11 with a different
programming package.

Help Dudes anyone one else having this problem ??????

Come on you smart guys hook me up with some info

What is the 5 step test? Also, what is NVRam?

What exactly are you having problems with?

NVRam is non volitle ram where you reciever password is stored
the 5 step test is the test your reciever runs after you do a switch test
you have probably seen it a 1000 times

Ok, so you've done the hard reset (what you refered to as NVRam)...So which IRD is having problems? All of them? Are you getting a signal strength at all? We need more info, dude.

I read somewhere that all of the local tiers make the acquiring sattelite signal slower than it would normally take. Mili has a pile of local tiers on his tierlist he sends. My 301 always loads quickly, but I have some friends whose 3900,4900's take five minutes or more to load up, I am going to try to take some of the locals off of the tier and see if it speeds it up. just a thought.
