rom 10 communication problem

I programed my Rom 10 card using NE4.1.
I wrote down my password and after checking data editor, edited different patches, apllied them with no errors. Finally, I wrote this info on the card.
When I read the card, I get the usual info that backdoor appears closed.
To remove the card lock, I enter the password and hit OK
I get the following message:

Opening of COM1 was successful
Removing card lock
Closing of COM1 was successful
Bad communications, try again

Please can any one help to open this card.

I use iso progarmmer. as you mentioned when I reset, I get this:

Opening of COM1 was successful
Reset failed
Error reseting card, ATR string invalid
Closing of COM1 was successful

I have a rom 3 card, and this screwed up as well. It is not locked but it has lost its ATR. and give mess. as error reading atr.

Hope someone with a similar problem nay have an answer.

Lost ATR, aka looped. A common rom 3 problem.

does the rom3 reset ok? Have you tried it lately since rom10 messed up. If both cards get the same message then your problem is elsewhere.

I am using a T9-11 with echo flash and also another programer that was given to me last year and there is no case with it. I have no idea what kind of programer it is. It has 4 dip switches , a db9 , and a power hookup. It program's 2131's ok for emu.

Yes - I don't know if those are compatiable with dish. Do either of the programmers have 3.68 xtal's. I know the programmers you have will work to unlock the dish cards, but to program the cards you might want to get iso programmer with a 3.68XTAL.

With rom 10 card, when I reset, I get:

So is there a solution to these or just dump the cards.

It's probably not the cards, you have other problems if you are getting the same error on both cards.

but when unlock the card using the P/W I used, I get:

I have used a blocker and when I went to unlock I got the same message, but when I tried to read the card, it was unlocked, It is your call if you want to try to read the card, I am saying I have had the same thing happen to me. I think I was using romnomore blocker.
