Copy and Paste:::August 12, 2004 -Bell ExpressVu And NFL Sunday Ticket, Think Again!
It appears a large number of people looking forward to watching the NFL Sunday Ticket for free this season on the Bell ExpressVu satellite feed might have another thing coming. It seems that a very large number of satellite pirates have been seeking out FTA (Free To Air), and Bell ExpressVu equipment in preparation for the NFL's 2004-2005 season.

Bell ExpressVu has something else in mind, which involves Nagra2. Nagra2 is the latest security technology to be put in effect by Bell ExpressVu and Dish Network. Both companies are currently using the new Nagra2 technology, but cannot use it exclusively until they complete their card swap sometime next year. Nagra2 is a technology that has not yet been compromised by satellite hackers.

Bell ExpressVu has begun issuing Nagra2 compatible access cards to those that are subscribing to the NFL Sunday Ticket. Bell ExpressVu has also begun airing on ch. 270, the "NFL Smartcard Swap". FTA receivers are not compatible with the Nagra2 datastream, meaning they will not be an option for the upcoming 2004-2005 NFL season.

I got this from a post in Maestra.

Forgive me if this sounds like a naive question, but why couldn't one just add the locals from the NFL cities and then watch the games?
