I like the internal Mel/Max EMU, and Yvouse software, if you have an extra computer to use. However the very first thing to do is Jtag and save the tsop and eeprom data, you will need that for sure.

What is a mel/max internal emu? and where could I get one? Thanks.
Emu is an animal that lives in a desert ....
LoL...j/k.
Emu is Emulation. Max is Maxim 232 chip. Mel is Atmel 2313 chip.
Hence the name Max/Mel emu.
Emu is a process of using a computer along with software/hardware to emulate an access card. Therefore you will not need an access card to watch TV.
There are two ways you can do this.
--Place the emu Max/Mel board inside of your IRD and connect it to a computer.
--Place the Max/Mel chip combo on a seperate board and insert this board into IRD, then connect this board to the computer.
You can find schematic for internal Max/Mel emu in Emulation section, or you can buy an external emu board here (http://www.dishtesting.com), or you can convert a DTV emu board to do the same thing.
Software to run Dish emu has many flavor. The easiest is CEMU which is DOS-based and will run on floppy disk and computer can be as slow as 486/75MHz.
