Im confused a little bit I have a directv dish aligned on the 110 bird right now. So to use the same dish to get 119 i need to strap a lnb to the left hand side <looking at the face of the dish.> Is this correct because when I look at some of the pictures and stuff on here from research I've done it shows 119 on the left hand side but that seems backwards to me? If I check my peak angles it shows the azimuth as being farther west which is the left hand side? Im confused

thank yo

Face dish 119 on right side. you need roll so arm at 22 deg on a protractor AND 34 on elevation. DEPENDS where at TRY 230 .JCK7

the earth is curved. the two sats are at elevations following that curve. Assuming you are in the western 2/3 of the us, if you are behind the dish, facing south-ish, the bird on your right is lower, relative to your current position (how much so is determined by how far west you are of the North/South line of the left hand bird), because the earth curves downward to the right and left of the horizon. You have to tilt your dish to account for this curve.

If you have to buy a LNB anyway why not just buy whole thing, DTV dishes are just a cheap as just a LNB. Set up both 1 at 110. ---1 at 119 its easier than trying to use just 1 and set right angles, skew on rube goldberg double set up. ( what he is trying to tell you in tech talk is.) One sat is a little lower and a little off to the side of the other sat. ( different asmov and different elevation ) see set up program for right angles.
