I have the TwinHan 1020A FTA DVB card. I must say that it works perfectly. With the right soft, you can get D*sh and B3V and Globecast. I have had this card for about a year now, and I love it! Aug. 12 was the first time it went down, for me, and I was down for about an hour. Everything is fine now. Best money I ever spent!!
I must say that you must have a fairly fast computer to use the TwinHan, cause the video processing is done by the CPU. If you're using a slower computer (under 1 ghz), you might want to go with a DVB card that has a processor on-board. The Nexus-S is a hardware card (processor on-board), but I thought it was rather pricey.
One thing, if you get a DVB card, no more j-tags or programmers or cards to program. Just watch TV!!

Yeah, I use one and up untill Friday it worked like clockwork. You just need a decent video card. The nexus has it's own built in video card but it is alot more money. Regards hVAC..Is there a currently working program [files] for the twinHan...Are you back up since Friday????

Here is a link to a site that deals exclusively with DVB cards. http://www.dvbn.net/index.php?sid=da796ea7e5f249af03defd57ac068d67
You will find all the info you need and links to all the software needed to get you up and running.
Raguyl, with the VisionDTV software, you can only get the FTA channels. It's not capablle of using the decryption plugins. You need a soft such as
DVBDream, ProgDVB, or My Theatre. To get the encrypted channels, you also need a program called Yankse and a softcam.key file. Also, you need a prog called Fenrir, this will get the new public keys for you. The encryption keys (Aug. 12 blackout) have to be added manually.
Anyway,go to the forums at DVBN.net and read and read. The people there are very friendly and you'll get all the help you need.

Hi Geezer,

The website you give above shows under construction. Do you have an alternate site for information on PCI cards? Thanks.

i used to use the twinhan 1020a on my computer, a 1.1 gig without any problems. i used my theater, good program. (recording, playback) if you use any of the other programs like progdvb, you need more juice to get it working properly(no feezing, glitching screens). thats why you dont need a fast computer if you run a more expensive card, like the nexus..i decided to get a fortec and run it on my mototrized dish. (twinhan also can use the motorized dish) if you dont have one you can use a switch to go back and forth between sats.........
