I got the problem about this as well. When I down load the software from this site (AL7bar_FTA_040823_239_api(NTSC).bin) and load into my Fortec Lifetime Digital Satellite Receiver. The receiver is unable to wake up. It just sleep with a green light running accoss.

I have to down load the file from the Fortec web page (original file) in order to fix this....but now I can not see any thing...? Can someone help please?

Hi! To fix your fortec star lifetime download the newest fix inside there`s a 60_boot file use that set on boot and you will find another zip file inside open it and use the new tool loader set it on appz wait for it to finish then after it`s done
go to channel edit and go to the bottom to code put your password in and go to where it says default keys press ok on that and wait for it to save then you should be able to watch tv....good luck...

i have a fortec star i been a month trying to flash it all i get is flash fail error 2 i try every flash in the file any help ctaylor

Hi! Try using the Al7bar tool loader,but you must make sure when you go to flash you have it set right like flash rom file to flash and boot to boot.
because if you set wrong you will get the night rider lights.
and check your RS232 cable is the right one,must be 6ft or less straight through cable.
I have a fortec star and it takes on first fllash everytime.
look for Al7bar tool loader and give it a shot but make sure to set it right.
