I'm looking to get a free to air receiver and I was hoping someone out there who can tell me which one is the best for setting up? I had and still do have a bev receiver 3100 with a atmega 128 card. With all the blackouts and ecm hits my receiver is dead. Evrytime I try a new pfg file I get channel 317 ecm and can't turn the channel. Will the free to air receiver have the same problem as the bev receivers? I live in Arizona and I was hoping I could still get CDN channels.
If i replace the bev receiver with the free to air do i need new switches, wiring and anything else. Do I have to change my dish placement if i want bev channles?
Your help is appreciated

All are about the same, just what you want to spend.
The Pansat is not very expensive and easy to set up. Just load a bin. file and scan for channels or you can load a list, ether way is easy. You can use any DTV or Dish
Network 18" dish but not the ones with the internal switch. The FTA's have there own switch. There are lots of guides around to explain all this much better than me so you need to start reading. :)

As you may have heard the FTA's are down as well (OK most are).
YOur problem with your 3100 is an easy fix. Use a jatg and earse SA3 in your flash and re-stream your receiver and it will take an update and repair itself.
And there are many AtMega fixes out there. Invest $30 in a Jtag .. problem solved and at lease you'll have TV again ....

For the money and easy to setup . I go for pansat 2500a.
Pansat 2500a it is reliable also except for the clock.
Good luck !

OK ... here you go ... remember while do this back up your TSOP's and eeprom as well.
To fix ECM .. only earse SA3 and not the full bin.
