Weird Happening

I have three Dish Network receivers here and none of them were turned on. I noticed that one of them was on and I could not shut it off either with the power button on the receiver nor with the remote. There was no picture. I finally unplugged and replugged the receiver and the "searching for signal" came up and in a few minutes everything was fine. I then decided to check the other two. The exact same thing had happened to them. They turned on by themselves and would not shut off without having the power plug removed. They both were ok after replugging.

Anyone have any idea what happened???
