I have a 4700 (recently upgraded to a 4900 dish net) and when i insert my atmega 128 card into it, it says "card not inserted properly". but i also have a atmega 128 but rev c type card and that works properly and i get the show. the "card not inserted properly" message comes after 5 seconds on the aquiring signal screen(it stays at 1 out of 5) then shows the message. is something wrong with the card or reciever.

Same here and I possibly know the same solution. I have had
this before. You have to make sure you have the latest
firmware. Do you have a tsop lock preventing updgrades?
I have found they are a necessary evil to eliminate the most
obvious of causes of problems.

Would anyone be able to pm me a public dump of their
firmware E526 for BEV 4700c IRD? (build cce if possible)
I had installed a tsop lock and ever since I can't
restream my IRD even with the switch in the unlock
position. She writes fine with a jtag though.

I finally got a new job and paid to get legit sub
but am getting the error 19 message "smart card not
inserted correctly" using the old E480 f/w. Can't
exactly call em up and complain now can I?

Many thanks
