the atmega works good with the 721 but i have two atmegas one jumperless one with jumper if i put the waffer next to one another one to copare atmegas one is longer than the other the longer one is the jumper type [all chanels opened] the shorter atmega in 721 will not work the atmega chip stops the waffer going in card slot you can get it to work if u shave out card slot a little but i dont like doing that but i know someone who did atmega worked fine id invest in a longer jumper type if concerdiring 721 and atmega

Update: I am up and running with Atmega and PVR721, so it appears there was no damage done by viewing the flash address 3fff90 after the receiver took the 172 update (I did do a NVM reset before exiting though - maybe that is the fix for those who think their receiver is toast).

I am still interested in hearing anyone's experience with this and if anybody can confirm the "damage" warning.

jetito,
I think I screwed up. I viewed the address 3fff90 but I think it had updated already. It stopped responding and I power it off with remote . Will not come on back?
You think it is no good?

Need your help out there!

Thanks
