301.013 dual tsop problem

Goin nuts here. Okay here goes. I got an .013 dual chip that was ecm,ed with firmware p202. Erased sa15, streamed and no luck. Read a little deeper and found that sa18 is the sector to clear up the dishnet crabs that infested the reciever. Before I learned that, I decided to just erase both chips and reflash clean software back on. Stupidly I erased fash2 first by mistake and I guess we all know what that does to these recievers. I killed it in action. Damn. Anyway its totally lifeless. I,ve flashed the boot sector back on with wall and all seemed to program fine. Think it would power up with a reboot?? NOT. Tried again with R79 grounded properly and still no go. Tell me, would it be possible that this puppy needs to be vid modded even though its a dual chip?? I,ve followed gunthers guide word for word for a dead dually as mine and still can,t get this thing to come back to me. Please if anybody has got any suggestions besides tossing this one in the fire place, let me know.

Wall is not needed for this receiver, just obtain a good public tsop dump edit it to your numbers and reflash.

skinerd, thanx for the quick response. The reason I was using wall was because I was trying to bring it back to life. I erased flash2 first by mistake and now she won,t even power up. If I read correct, that was the flash with the boot sector included. I,m assuming this is the problem. After the erase, I realised and tried to reflash back on with jtag still connected and jkeys still in programming mode but no luck. After that its been down hill ever since. Like I said before I,ve tried all the resurrecting methods for dead 301,s but no go. With wall I can successfully reload flash base address 1FC00000 and length of 60000 of the backup I made before I screwed it up. Ird still won,t respond after that. Any ideas??? I hope.

Ground R79 or pad 1 of the jtag port. Have you tried that?

Yeah skinerd, I gave that a shot last night but no go. I,ve read through a couple of resurrecting guides and most mention to use flash2 base address of 1FC00000 to load the bootloader sector. Another guide (dudemans) states that the flash base address of flash2 is 1FE00000 for the .013 and and 1FC00000 for the .010. Think I,m gonna doink myself in the head for not paying attention to this little difference between vu and dish. Gonna try and load from 1FE and see what happens. Thanx for all your help buddy.

Hey Skinerd, I am able to load both flashes successfully with wall. Ird still won,t power up. Tried to stream it as well and no luck. Could it be possible that its not a software problem but maybe an electrical glitch on the inside. When I power it up I here the power click but no light. Thought maybe the light might be fried so hooked up to tv and checked that but no go. Any info on faulty electrical parts on these models I might be able to read and check. Thanx

Go now and reflash with jkeys, erase both flashes, BUT don't exit jkeys are power down the receiver. Erase both, #1 frist, then reflash both, #2 first, and load a virgin eeprom from flashedit. Don't worry as long as jkeys has control you can work with the flashes. I would ground R79 to be on the safe side too.

Can reflash only with wall and not jkeys for some reason. I will give your instructs a try and load with wall to see what happens. If no go, this thing is goin in the garbage.
