501 with HD error msg?

my buddie has a 501 that got hit and he reporgrammed it with a tsop bin other than the orginal. he is getting a error when it boots up about a problem with his HD. anyone for sure know what the problem is? could he have put the wrong build on this unit and that is the problem?

The harddrive stores the receiver number and boxkeys, they must match the ones in the receiver.
Edit the flash to match the old numbers or the harddrive will have to be zero'ed and remarried, which will require flashing with virgin tsop bin.
