Hello all,
I saw on the jtag list that this can not be jtaged. It was unsubbed a few years
ago. Is there anything I can do with it or is it dead because of the no jtag?
thanks !

I think that the "50" series receivers use a different lnb config. I had a jvc 2750 that wouldn't work with a conventional lnb. The sat in connection is labelled differntly on such receivers. take a look and see it it appears to be different from a normal Charlie/evu receiver.

Thanks Nefarious! On the lower right side the card says 288-01. Which hardware is recommended for this type of card

thats a rom 2 card. You can use xcel 3.6, or Nagra 1.0.

Something strange I found. In the system info it says:
Model ID:4000
Smart card: DNASP002 Rev052
Software versioon: 223PBUAA-N
BootStrap version: 120BBUAA
Although on the outside it says model ISD 2350

I do not want to do anything until I know what I am doing. So I need to purchase some
hardware from Mili. The question is which? And do I need to update the receiver via
the stream?
thanks

If the card/receiver info is a match, you can just plug it in and see if it works at all. You don't need a blocker with rom2's

Its just a 4000 series, use excell to addtiersa to the card and install a tsop lock before you test

Thanks again. II was finally ablr to locate and download excell 3.0. Is the tsop lock a hard lock or a software package
I should be looking for?

a tsop lock is a hard lock, If you get ecm'd you have a very big doorstop with the 4000 receiver You will probally have to let the ird update. rom 2's do not need blockers because they cannot be locked. You will need a ISO 3.68 mhz programmer. I have a rom 2 that i only use if everything else goes down, in the last parity key change we had to wait for updates for the rom 3/10 cards and a new flash for the atmega card. My rom 2 updated the new key because it didn't have a blocker to stop the keys from updating. Very nice card to have in case of emergencies.
