need a little info on 7100 HD up grade

Okay I have done some reading one a hd upgrade on a 7100, on Dishmod too, okay I know I will have too use the utiles ( WD) to zero out hard drive (40 gb WD 5400rpm) cause I once had it in my cpu . but when I put the dishplayer files on the new harddrive hows is it going to marry w the rom card ( by the way I'm only subbing on the unit not testing if that helps) or will I have to call up dish and get them to re marry the unit , can I even tell them about HD upgrade. Or do I need to make a copy of the files that r on the Orignal HD now . Anything else anyone can suggest would be appreciated

Dish 7200 problem with all black screen......or Hard drive upgrade

You might need to update you webTV client software. Assuming the dishplayer has not been subbed for a while fire it up fully connected , press the power button on the front panel of the receiver, next after the green light has finally gone out, press 8675309 on the remote control all of the lights on the receiver will flash in rotation, now connect the phone line to the receiver and to your phone jack and press the power button again on the front panel it will now force it to update the software. When it has completed the 63 steps of the upgrade, you will want to put your card in, with a blocker on it as to not lock your card from the update in the stream, Go ahead and turn off the receiver and leave it of full connected to the dish and power outel. Leave it for a couple hours or over night with the power button off,(no green light). When you wake up in the morning it will have been updated! This is also the procedure for installing a new larger hard drive.
