no program will help with 0xFFFFFFF, that is a hardware problem.
recheck your connections.

Jkeys should recognize the flash even if blank. Using jkeys 2.0.1??
Everything connected as before, FP and BFR??
Does the developmental panel routine turn the light on??

with trace cut and 5v to FP, developemental panel routine is still nescessary.

Kjeys 2.9.9 won't work for a 420.
use 2.0.1 or 2.9.10

cut the trace and apply 5v to fp, that will solve it.

some receivers will enable flash erasing and reprogramming, without 5v to FP, most will not.

I always do, so I don't know if it will work without or not. Try it and see.

At least you got it to erase, that's progress.

What happens when is says thay it checking to see if flash is blank when you try to program??

Have you tried to write ther original back now that the erase works??

Have you tried another computer??

I did one exactly like yours. Got all the same errors. I was ready to throw in the towel.
It would start to write the flash then error out at 4% then ata 24%..........................
I rerchecked all my connections for the 20th time and BAM it finally went through without error.
Heres the good part though. After the completed flash the reciever would not power on for me. No green light.
I redid the procedure and the erase went perfectly and the reflash went without a hitch.
Now everything is ok.
Just one of lifes mysteries I guess.
Don't give up. I've done ones before without a hitch and others were a pain.

Glad you got it done.
That's the first time that have heard of 2.0.1 not working and 2.0.0 being able to get it done.
2.0.1 has always worked for me, 40 something 420/440/480's done.
May have something to do with other conditions, cable length, computer type, something????????
